Public Relations Grant

Grow your local P.R. program with MNEA grant

Local associations across the state have the opportunity to implement their ideas for spreading good news about public education with a financial boost from Missouri NEA.

This year’s grant application deadline is Sept. 11. Grant winners will be notified in October. MNEA’s public relations grant program is a project of the Association’s Public Relations Committee. Grants of up to $300 are awarded for Read Across America projects and other projects that work toward the following goals:

  • Increase MNEA’s visibility in the community.
  • Build support for public education.
  • Support local association public relations efforts.
  • Improve the image of teachers.

All grant recipients will receive half of their money in the fall and the other half once they’ve completed the project and filed a project report. Grant recipients are also asked to design a means of evaluating the grant project.

For more information, contact Debra Beckman at (573) 634–3202 or debra.beckman@mnea.org.

Deadline: Sept. 11, 2020

Share your story

Even though we are not at school supporting Missouri students, members continue to help every day during this crisis. MNEA wants to share your stories as we struggle through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are hearing about members who are continuing to care for their students by

  • volunteering at school district Grab & Go meal distribution centers and food drives
  • providing child care for essential medical staff
  • shopping for the elderly so they don’t have to leave the safety of their homes

Your stories help show that educators don’t stop caring. Please send your stories with pictures to MNEA at coronavirus@mnea.org, so we can share them. You can post to social media, making sure you tag @MissouriNEA and use the hashtags  #MNEAheroes and  #MNEAprotects.
