Jefferson City, MO -- Faculty members at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, MO have successfully completed the initial stage of organizing a collective bargaining unit affiliated with the Missouri National Education Association. On behalf of the faculty at Lincoln University, the Missouri NEA has requested that Lincoln University recognize it as the collective bargaining representative of this unit of employees and begin negotiations with it for a collective bargaining agreement to define the terms and conditions of employment for all full-time faculty.

“We are excited about completing a successful pledge drive,” says Dr. Abdoulaye Bah, Lincoln University faculty media spokesperson. “We are confident that representation in collective bargaining with the Missouri NEA will result in better working conditions for faculty members and learning conditions for students at Lincoln University.”

The 35,000-member MNEA represents teachers, education support professionals, college faculty, retired teachers and students studying to be teachers in school districts and on college campuses throughout the state. It is the Missouri affiliate of the 3.2 million-member NEA.
